We don’t store, process or share your files in the cloud
Everything the app does happens on your device. Your files are never uploaded, and they leave the app only when you share, save or export them, to the place you choose.
We don’t collect any of your information
The app has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, and it sends nothing to us or to anyone else. We never see your files or what is in them.
How the app works privately and offline
- Reading the text, describing pictures and suggesting titles all happen on your device, so the app works without an internet connection.
- Your originals are never changed. The result is a separate copy, and the app never deletes a file it did not create.
- Results are kept in the app’s folder in the Files app, where you can see and use them, or only inside the app if you turn on “Keep files only inside the app”.
- A file you delete goes to the app’s Bin for 30 days, so you can restore it if you change your mind.
- So that it can keep a file’s results and status when you rename or move it, the app remembers each file by a short code worked out from its contents. This stays in the app’s own records; nothing is added to your files. “Delete All Stored Files” in Settings erases these records.
- So that you can search the names and text of all your files, the app keeps a search index on your device. It is private to the app, protected by your device’s security, and erased by “Delete All Stored Files”.
- The app never asks for access to your camera, photos, contacts or location.
- If you back up your device, the backup includes the app’s data, unless you turn on “Leave the app’s data out of device backups” in the app’s Settings.
If you contact us
We use your contact details and message only to reply, and delete them once they are no longer needed. You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. If you are unhappy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or to the data protection authority where you live.
